Leading Locally May 2013
“By participating in Leading Locally, I have gained a better understanding of who I am, how I can lead more effectively in both the community and in my workplace. The class has allowed me to be empowered to become more involved in the community to insure our communities thrive and continue to grow vibrantly”. “It is amazing to me how many different businesses there are in Thayer County and what they do for the community.”
I understand more fully how my personality affects my leadership and interaction with others.” Those three statements and more were expressed as Leading Locally in Thayer County class participants received their graduation certificates from Rosemary Dageforde, President of the Thayer County Economic Development Alliance.

If you travel eight miles south of Concordia, Kan., the majestic sight of wind turbines stretches along either side of U.S 81. Recently, Thayer County Economic Development Alliance sponsored a tour for 17 Thayer County landowners and tenants to EDP Renewables Wind Farm to learn about the opportunities that wind generation might bring to Thayer County.
NE Intern Program
Here is a great program for those looking for extra help this summer. We have sent out information on InterNE previously, but they have reworked the program and the benefits of hiring registered interns have increased. This program helps the employer by matching a percentage of an intern’s wages and provides college students with valuable work experience. Please take a look at this if you are considering or hiring summer help.
