Thayer County is a great place to work, play, have a home and become part of a community. There are a lot of advantages of living in Thayer County, low cost of living, great employment opportunities, close to interstate highways, excellent school systems, low crime rates, abundant recreational activities and own your own business.

 
     
Thayer County has a population of 5,317 (2006 Census). We have eleven communities with Hebron being the largest and the County seat with a population of 1565 (2000 Census). Thayer County is governed by 3 Commissioners, each elected for a four-year term.

  
  The County offices and Sheriff's department are located in Hebron. The Thayer County Hospital is located in Hebron with satellite clinics located throughout the County.
