The Thayer County Economic Development Alliance Photography Contest competition is open to anyone.

A First and Second Grand prize winner will be chosen from all the entries. Those winners will receive a $25 award. Any other winners will be determined by the TCEDA committee.

The six intrinsic quality sub-categories are open to interpretation by the artist.

Honorable Mention will be given to those who the TCEDA committee determines for each category.

There is no limit to the number of categories that one submitter can win.

All winners and honorable mentions may be featured displays, at TCEDA events, TCEDA brochures, storefronts, other locations, and on the website, www.thayercounty.org . Select entries will be used on the website and a County brochure to welcome back alumni, friends and relatives.

Contest entries are accepted between September 1, 2008 and December 31, 2008. All entries must be postmarked by midnight, December 31, 2008 and must be accompanied with an entry form, a digital file and an entry fee of $5.00 per entry. Results will be announced on January 31, 2009.

There is no limit to the number of photographs that can be submitted by any individual. Each entry should be submitted with a single entry form and entry fee. Entry fee is $5.00 per photograph and can be combined into one payment. Make checks payable to TCEDA. Label the back of each print with the title exactly as it appears on this form. Do not include any information on the print that will identify the photographer.

Official Entry Forms can be printed from the link www.thayercounty.org/photoentry.pdf for a PDF file or www.thayercounty.org/photoentry.doc for a word file. Each entry must be accompanied with entry fee and an official entry form that includes:
1. Photographer's name and address
2. A title for the photograph and a short description of the photograph including a location that the photograph is associated with.
3. The category you would like the photograph entered in. Each photograph can be entered in only one category.

Judging criteria will be interpretation of theme, photographic quality, visual appeal, and ability to show diversity and richness of the Thayer County area. Each criterion will be given equal consideration.

Entrants providing a self-addressed stamped envelope will have their materials returned a few weeks after the final selection.

All entries must be submitted in a printed 8” x 10” format (8 inches by 10 inches). Film or digital photographs are accepted. Please remember to include an electronic file of your picture. If using digital photography, a minimum digital photograph quality is three (3) megapixels or larger or 1600x1200 pixels @ 300 dpi is recommended. Most new digital cameras produce images at this level of resolution when they are set at medium to high resolution.

No alteration or manipulation of photographs is permitted except for cropping, red eye removal, and/or adjustment of contrast and brightness.

Entries must be the work captured by the person submitting the photograph.

Further known as Sponsor, Thayer County Economic Development Alliance and other contest sponsors assume no responsibility for submissions. Contestants retain the copyright to their photographs, and all rights thereto, and retain ownership and all other rights to future use of their photographs except as follows. For All Entries: Entrants agree that the Thayer County Economic Development Alliance organization has the right to use their photographs for promotion of the TCEDA and shall have the right to edit, adapt, and publish any or all of the photos submitted, and may use them in any media without attribution or compensation to the contestant, his or her successors or assigns, or any other entity. Photos will be credited to the Contestant named in the Entry form. Descriptions or titles, if any, used with the photos are in the Sponsors' sole discretion. In the event that ownership of any photograph submitted is challenged in any manner by any person, Sponsor may disqualify that photograph and will discontinue use of the photograph. Photographs that are inappropriate, indecent or obscene, as determined by TCEDA in their sole discretion shall be disqualified.

TCEDA and contest sponsors are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, illegible, misdirected or postage-due requests, which are void. In addition, by entering, contestants represent and warrant that the entries that they submit are their own original creations and do not infringe any other person's or entity's rights.

Contestants, by participating in this Contest, hereby waive and release, and agree to hold harmless the Sponsors, all promotions and advertising agencies, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, distributors, advertising and promotions agencies and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents (collectively the "Released Parties"), from and against, any and all rights including without limitation, moral rights, claims and causes of action whatsoever that they may have, or which may arise, against any of them for any liability for any matter, cause or thing whatsoever, including, but not limited to, any injury, loss, damage, whether direct, indirect, compensatory, special, exemplary, incidental or consequential, or other economic loss, to any person, including death and damages to all property (both tangible and intangible), arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from their acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prize in the Contest, or their participation in the Contest, or their participation in any Contest or prize related activity, or any travel related to the Contest.
